Spiritual Development and Theology Unit (SDT)
Description (According to the Presbytery's Standing Rules)
This Unit is to provide spiritual support and professional development of ministers and laity. Seminars, retreats and continuing education resources for pastors are to be developed. The Unit is to assist the Presbytery in theological dialogue and discipline and it is the responsibility of this Unit to plan Presbytery worship, including the sacrament of the Lord\'s Supper.
Each June, this Unit appoints one of its members to the Bills and Overtures Committee.
This Unit had been inactive due to lack of members, but with five members, now, and a new Chairperson, it will become active.
MEMBERSHIP: The Spiritual Development and Theology Unit is to have six (6) members. Currently, there are five members, two in the Class of 2009 (a clergyperson and an elder) and three in the Class of 2010 (two clergy and one elder). A candidate is needed for the Class of 2011, preferably an elder or unordained lay person.
MEETINGS: No pattern for meetings has been established, yet, but the new Chairperson has been contacting the Unit’s members in order to establish their schedule and priorities.
