Mission Work at "GLORIA'S HOUSE" Weeks of July 7 & July 14

A woman with real need and a serious illness called us from New Orleans asking for our help. The first floor of her home, which as a rental was the main source of her income, was destroyed.

People from the Presbyterian Church at Tenafly have roughed in all the plumbing, electrical and air-conditioning. We’re now trying to organize some groups to do all remaining construction and painting. If you (including teens 18 and older – teens 16 & 17 need to be accompanied by a parent) are interested in going to help, give a call or email. (With airfare the cost per person will be approximately $400.)

Our goal as a Presbytery is to raise $35,000 for building materials. (We have raised $14,500 so far from the churches of the Presbytery with $10,000 more pledged).

WHAT: Helping a woman in New Orleans rebuild her Katrina ravaged house and her life.

WHO: Teams made up of people and friends from our Presbytery to go to her home to do mostly interior construction tasks. (No specific skills will be needed – inside will be air-conditioned.)

WHEN: July (weeks of 7th and 14th – exact dates to be announced)

WHAT’S NEEDED:
- $9,000 more for building supplies
- Individuals to go sometime during that 2 week July period

Coordinators: Craig Rule (201-567-0111), Alan Diekjobst (201-567-2952) and Debbie D’Amico (201-567-2601). Email Cecilia@tenaflychurch.org

If you would like to contribute, please make a check payable to the Presbytery of the Palisades, (writing on it “Gloria’s House”) and mail to 650 Pascack Road, Paramus, NJ 07652.
